Understanding the Phound Plans
Phound has three plans: Basic, Pro, and Business. Every Phound account starts on the Basic plan, giving you a powerful set of communication tools at no cost. When you are ready for more, upgrading is straightforward and takes effect immediately. You can review pricing details anytime by navigating to Settings > Subscription inside the app.
Basic Plan (Free)
The Basic plan gives you a generous set of features at no cost, making Phound one of the most capable free communication apps available.
What you get with Basic:
- Unlimited Phound-to-Phound calling, video, and messaging — stay connected with other Phound users at no charge.
- Basic voicemail — receive voicemail messages with transcription.
- Meetings up to 100 participants — host or join video meetings with up to 100 people.
- Basic meeting summaries — get AI-powered summaries of your calls and meetings.
- 3GB cloud storage — store files, recordings, and media.
- One default persona — set a display name and avatar for your number.
- Verified ID — display your verified identity to people you call.
- Community support — access to the Phound Help Center and community forums.
Tip: The Basic plan is ideal if you primarily communicate with other Phound users and want free calling, video, messaging, and meetings without any subscription cost.
The Basic plan has no time limit. You can use it for as long as you like at no cost. However, numbers on the Basic plan that remain completely inactive (no calls, texts, or logins) for 90 consecutive days may be reclaimed and returned to the available number pool. Pro Plan
The Pro plan is designed for people who need full-featured calling beyond the Phound network, along with advanced AI tools and expanded capacity.

Billing Cycles
Phound paid plans are available on two billing cycles:
- Monthly — pay month to month with no long-term commitment. You can cancel or change plans at any time before your next billing date.
- Annual — pay once per year and save compared to the monthly price. Annual subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each 12-month period unless you cancel beforehand.
Your billing cycle begins on the day you subscribe, and all future charges are based on that anniversary date. For example, if you subscribe on March 10, your next monthly charge will process on April 10.
Tip: Not sure which cycle to choose? Start with a monthly subscription to make sure the plan fits your needs, then switch to annual billing when you are ready to commit and save. You can change your billing cycle at any time from Settings > Subscription > Billing Cycle.
How to Choose the Right Plan
Choosing a plan comes down to a few main questions:
- Do you mainly communicate with other Phound users? If so, the Basic plan gives you unlimited calling, video, messaging, and meetings for free.
- Do you need to call and text regular phone numbers? If you need calling to the US, Canada, and Mexico, SMS/MMS, and advanced Magnum AI features, the Pro plan is the right fit.
- Do you need team features and international calling? If your organization needs shared numbers, Flows IVR, team management, and unlimited international calling, go with the Business plan.
If you are still unsure, start with the Basic plan and explore the app. You can upgrade at any time with just a few taps, and your existing number, contacts, and message history will carry over seamlessly.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I switch between plans? Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade at any time from Settings > Subscription. When you upgrade, you get immediate access to the new features. Will I lose my number if I downgrade? If you downgrade to a plan that supports fewer numbers than you currently have, you will be asked to choose which numbers to keep. The numbers you release will be deactivated, but you will have a 30-day grace period to reactivate them before they are returned to the pool.
Is there a free trial for paid plans? Phound occasionally offers promotional trials for new users. Check the app or our website for any current offers. The Basic plan itself serves as a no-risk way to try the core Phound experience.
Can I add extra phone numbers? Yes. Additional numbers are available as an add-on for $4.99/month per number on any paid plan.
Is number porting free? Yes. You can port your existing number from another carrier to Phound at no cost.
