Feature Announcements
Here is a look at the features we have recently launched and what is coming next. We build Phound based on what our users ask for most, and this page is where we share progress as features move from planning to production.
Recently Launched
Business Hours Scheduling
Launched: March 2026
You can now define specific business hours for each of your Phound numbers. When a call or message arrives outside your set hours, Phound will automatically route it according to your preferences — send it to voicemail, reply with a custom auto-response, or suppress the notification until your next business window opens. This was one of our most requested features, especially from freelancers and small business owners who use Phound to separate work and personal communication.
How it works:
- Open number settings for any Phound line and tap Business Hours under Availability.
- Set active hours for each day of the week individually, or apply the same schedule across all days.
- Choose what happens outside business hours: route to voicemail, send an auto-reply, or silently queue notifications.
- Set holiday exceptions for specific dates when you want to override your regular schedule.
Tip: Pair business hours with the new per-number Do Not Disturb controls in v2.5 for a complete work-life boundary. Business hours handle the routing logic, while Do Not Disturb handles the notification silence.
Business hours scheduling is available on all Phound plans, including the Basic (Free) tier. There is no limit on the number of schedules you can configure across your lines.
Voicemail Transcription (Powered by Magnum AI)
Launched: February 2026
Every voicemail you receive on a Phound number is now automatically transcribed into text using Magnum AI, Phound's built-in AI engine. Transcriptions appear directly in your conversation thread alongside the audio recording, so you can read what someone said without having to listen to the message. Magnum AI also powers call summaries and transcription for recorded calls.
Key details:
- Transcriptions are generated within seconds of the voicemail being recorded.
- Supported languages include English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, and Japanese, with more being added on a rolling basis.
- Accuracy is optimized for natural conversational speech. You can tap any transcription to listen to the original audio.
- Transcriptions are fully searchable — find voicemails by keyword just like text messages.
New: Voicemail transcriptions are included at no additional cost on all paid plans. Free-tier users receive transcription for up to 10 voicemails per month.
Call Recording
Launched: January 2026
Phound now supports on-demand call recording for both inbound and outbound calls. This feature is designed for users who need to keep records of conversations for professional, legal, or personal reference purposes.
How it works:
- During any active call, tap the Record button on the call screen to begin recording.
- A notification tone plays at the start of the recording to inform all parties, in compliance with standard consent practices.
- Tap the button again to stop recording at any time. Recording also stops automatically when the call ends.
- Recorded calls are saved in your conversation thread and can be played back, downloaded, or deleted.
- Recordings are encrypted both in transit and at rest.
Important: Recording laws vary by jurisdiction. Phound plays an audible tone when recording begins, but it is your responsibility to comply with the laws in your area.
Tip: You can set a default recording preference per number in your settings. Choose between manual recording (tap to start each time), automatic recording (every call is recorded), or disabled (the record button is hidden). This is especially useful for business lines where you want a record of every client call.
Call recording is available on Pro and Business plans. Recordings are retained for 90 days by default, with an option to extend retention on Business plans.
Coming Soon
Team Shared Lines
Expected: Q3 2026
We are building support for shared phone lines that multiple team members can access. A shared line will allow a small team — such as a customer support group, a sales team, or a front-desk operation — to receive and respond to calls and messages from a single Phound number.
What to expect:
- Multiple users can be assigned to a single Phound number.
- Incoming calls will ring all assigned team members simultaneously, or you can configure round-robin routing so calls distribute evenly.
- Text messages sent to the shared line will appear in a shared inbox that all team members can see and respond to.
- Internal notes can be added to conversations so team members can coordinate without the contact seeing the notes.
- Activity logs will track which team member handled each call or message for accountability and performance tracking.
New: Team shared lines will launch initially with support for up to 5 members per line. We plan to increase this limit based on early feedback. If your team is larger than 5 and you are interested in early access, reach out to us at teams@phound.app.
Team shared lines will be available exclusively on the Business plan. We will share more details, including pricing, as we get closer to launch.
API Access for Business Users
Expected: Q3 2026
We are opening up the Phound API to Business plan users. The API will allow you to integrate your Phound numbers with other tools, automate workflows, and build custom experiences on top of the Phound platform.
Planned capabilities:
- Send and receive messages programmatically — Integrate Phound messaging into your CRM, helpdesk, or custom application via webhooks.
- Call management — Initiate outbound calls, retrieve call logs, and access recordings through the API.
- Number management — Provision new numbers, update persona settings, and configure routing rules without opening the app.
- Webhooks — Subscribe to real-time events like incoming calls, new messages, and voicemail arrivals. Filter by number or event type.
- Authentication and documentation — API access will be secured with API keys. Full documentation with code samples and an interactive explorer will be available at launch.
Tip: If you are a developer or run a business that could benefit from programmatic access to your Phound numbers, join the API early access waitlist at phound.app/api-preview. Waitlist members will get access to a sandbox environment before the public launch so you can start building integrations early.
API access will be included in the Business plan. Usage-based pricing may apply for high-volume API consumers, and we will publish specific thresholds before launch.
How We Prioritize Features
Every feature on this page started as feedback from a Phound user. We review support tickets, in-app feedback submissions, and community forum posts regularly to identify the features that will have the biggest impact for the most people.
If there is something you would like to see in Phound, we want to hear about it. You can submit feature requests through the in-app feedback form, email us at feedback@phound.app, or join the conversation in our community forum at community.phound.app.
We update this page as features move through development, so check back regularly to see what is on the way.
