Number Features and Persona Calling Controls

Understand where to manage a Phound number and how its persona controls incoming calls, voicemail, ringtones, meetings, and custom Flows.

A Phound number is assigned to a persona. The number provides its supported calling and messaging capabilities, while the persona controls how incoming calls are handled.

Review a Number

  1. Open the Phound desktop app.
  2. Open the active persona menu and select its settings icon.
  3. Select Manage numbers.
  4. Review the numbers attached to the persona and the capability badges shown for each number.

Use the badges in the app as the source of truth for that specific number. Capabilities and plan availability can vary.

Open the Persona Calling Controls

The same Manage persona screen provides the controls that affect calls to the persona.

Calling settings available for a Phound persona

Setting What it controls
Manage numbers The numbers attached to the persona and their displayed capabilities.
Privacy and visibility How other people can find or reach the persona. Review this separately from call routing.
Incoming calls The one route Phound should use when a call reaches the persona.
Ringtones The sound the desktop app plays for an incoming call to this persona.
Meeting Settings Defaults and permissions for meetings hosted by the persona.
Voicemail Whether persona voicemail is enabled and which greeting callers hear.

Choose What Happens to Incoming Calls

Open Incoming calls to choose one route. The desktop app currently provides Ring in Phound, One number, Dial someone, Voicemail, Meeting, Message, and Custom Flow.

See Incoming Call Routing for the complete explanation and testing steps.

Configure Voicemail and Ringtones

Voicemail and ringtones are persona-specific settings:

A persona voicemail greeting is different from a Record voicemail action inside a Flow. If the incoming-call route is Custom Flow, review both the persona and Flow before testing the number.

Use a Custom Flow for Multi-Step Routing

A custom Flow can add menus, time conditions, call groups, voicemail fallbacks, meetings, messages, and other actions. Start with:

Test the Number

Call the number from a different phone after changing a persona setting. Confirm the selected incoming route, ringtone, voicemail greeting, and every Flow branch that a caller can reach.

If the result is different from the selected settings, contact Phound Support with the persona name, number, selected incoming-call route, and the step where the behavior changes.
